Gonz, try a local carpenter. If your going to spend a bit of cash, try bespoke. Plain wood (pun) and design could be affordable.

Yeah', totally, thats what the quote was today, fitted waldrobes in a glossy black, done to the design we wanted.
Came to £1650 when we thought about £1000, but then when we went into the B&Q to get an idea, the same thing would be £1200-1300 without labour.
