I can't comment on how you feel as a parent but when teaching and the kids are in my care I do feel fiercely protective over them.

Do I lie to my child and tell her it's all true? I don't want to be dishonest with my own child (and I have a massive inability to lie - it freaks me out). Or do fabricate a lovely, fluffy world of fluffy Christmas loveliness which can be cruelly shattered at a later stage?
