This week I am expecting to take delivery of:
Jimmy Smith plays Peter and the Wolf
Bobby Hutcherson - Dialogue
Doug Hammond - Reflections in the Sea of Nurnen
Ben Frost/Daniel Bjarnason - Solaris
I don't expect any of these are likely to appeal to you though, Gonz.

I like the audio play "Childhood's End", probably my favorite audio play.
Never read Peter and the Wolf though.

You don't read Peter and the Wolf
You listen to it.
It introduces children (or you) to leitmotif - a theme for each character.

The Jimmy Smith version doesn't have any narration though
He improvises on the themes.

Kids do love it.
Prokofiev knew what he was doing alright.
You were brought up in a middle class household then.

a weird mix between middle class
and working class. Middle class enough to not be allowed guns/water pistols and not watch ITV, working class enough to live off crispy pancakes

That sounds like an insult of epic proportions, you massive Prokofiev.

I wouldn't be insulted by that
He was an ace composer.
You know some of his stuff, even if you think you don't.
