I got in to work to find a hugely passive aggressive note on my desk
saying 'I need you to do this, did you not see my email?' - said email was sent at 16:55 yesterday. Yeah. 1) Like I'm going to see that and 2) go out of my way to do a shitty time consuming task just before home time. When I got up to the lab I was sniffily informed the task had already been done. FUCKS. SAKE.

Kill them all and let god sort them out.
I got an email from HR demanding to know why I haven't completed PDR on my staff yet. I gently pointed out that my priority for the last month or so has been recovering from having a fuck-ton of metal screwed into my arm.
I didn't point out that PDR is compltely irrelevant for people on fixed term research contracts as a) they can't get promoted and b) their "targets" are the fucking milestones on the grants and therefore could you please stop wasting all of our fucking time with this shit? .. but I wish I had.

See, my boss isn't a bad person
I'd feel genuinely vindicated in wanting to slap her sometimes if that was the case, rather than slightly guilty. She's just incredibly...well. I think she's a bit of an autist, if I'm honest.

Oh, you must work for my old boss
Either that, or everyone has worked for a cunt at some point in their career.

I've mostly been very lucky with my bosses
and have got on well with many of them personally. The worst kind of boss, in my experience, is one who tries to be pally and then turns out to be a cunt

Sounds like my MD
My immediate boss is an excellent guy to work for, friendly, funny, and has no issue in telling me to buckle down and shut the fuck up, usually when I've just proven him wrong on something, haha.
