I found the lens in my iPhone to be amazing but the one on my Lumia 800 and HTC Titan was average. The smartphones generally have fiddle free shortcuts to the camera so you can just point and shoot.
They're shit for macro and oookeyish for low light.

I think it's the tiny CCDs that screw up the high ISO (low light) stuff(
