So who would you like to flounce next*?
Alt: You have £100 that may only be spent on a new electrical gadget. What would you purchase?

AltAlt: Share your best recipe.

*other than me.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:15, 72 replies, latest was 13 years ago)
I'd quite like to see me flounce.
I bet it would be pathetic. But I'm not sure how to push myself over the edge.

Alt: Fuck that, I'm saving up for a new camera, but everytime I save a certain amount, I see one a bit more expensive that I want. So I'd just get one £100 more expensive than the next one I see.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:17, Reply)
which one you getting?
is it a D300? I love my D300
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:20, Reply)
This is currently looking most likely.
www.jessops.com/online.store/products/78158/show.htmlIf

If I'd just stop buying comics I could afford it within a two months.

Updated with a better link, but I won't be getting it from Jessops...
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:23, Reply)
not bad
it's like the more recent version of my old D70. Good choice on nikon, too, btw. The silent wave motor lenses are nice
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:25, Reply)
I may actually come to you for advice before I make a final choice.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:30, Reply)
I don't really know anything much more useful
that is a nice camera and does the trick - I'm not a big fan of the big zooms (I have a couple of lenses for that) but that depends on how you use them
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:34, Reply)
OK, I won't come to you then...
Actually, that's about as much advice as I need. "It's not shit" is all I really need to know.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:36, Reply)
just make sure you take good photos with ti
and when I say good I mean interesting and unusual
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:37, Reply)
Damn it, I was just going to take cock and bumhole pics for gazzing purposes.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:49, Reply)
too common

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:50, Reply)
What? I don't do it THAT often...

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:52, Reply)
i suppose not, you've only sent 3 to me in the last week
but do yourself a favour and get a macro lens, ok?
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:54, Reply)
It's not that small.
I have massive hands.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:55, Reply)
Jessops are cunts
I worked for them for 18 months. It sucked
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:26, Reply)
I'm glad they nearly went tits up,
financially, arrogant, overbearing twats who pursued a policy of buying every camera shop up and branding it with their fucking logo.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:29, Reply)
this
also, they had a policy of getting rid of the long term employees who knew everything about cameras and replacing them with people who were good and selling things.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:33, Reply)
I felt sorry for their employees when they shut their store down here,
the whole lot of them got 20 minute redundancy notice.
Cuntbubble trick really.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:38, Reply)
this is not all that surprising
they made us work every 2rd sunday (no other days off) for a few of months, then didn't give us a bonus we'd earned because the store had spent too much on having us work sundays. Effectively we worked sundays for free

alt: does a new monitor count?
I want to be one of those dudes with two monitors, I'd be like a queen
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:18, Reply)
SSD hard drive.
Right I have to go on a conference call soon and talk about an interesting fact about Sweden, anyone got one? Or even convincing sounding bollocks?
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:22, Reply)
Use Wikipedia.

It's not as good as Denmark.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:27, Reply)
I think that Monty would have an epic flounce. But I don't *want* him to.
If I had £100 I'd buy an external hard drive. ROCK AND ROLL.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:26, Reply)
Us hard drive boys should stick together.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:31, Reply)
Are you coming on to me?

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:51, Reply)
Thank you Battered for starting a new thread.
That died during luncheons.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:28, Reply)
Bit too obvious, so I'll leave that well alone
Alt: Probably a digital camera, mainly keeping an eye out for those on offer. I don't particularly need a spectacular one though, so under £100 would be fine.

Alt Alt: I'm very happy with the way my Spicy BBQ pork and tomato dish came out, so it's probably that atm. Was just diced pork with a BBQ rub on it, fried, add onions, green peppers and sweetcorn to the pan, then add passata, season to your hearts desire, serve with rice. I used jerk seasoning and a little cayenne pepper in mine, was lovely!

I don't see the point of most compact digitals, mobile phones are good enough these days..,
.., except for real cameras which you couldn't by for that kind of money.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:38, Reply)
My shaky spazz hands mean that most phone cameras don't work for me
Whereas I've found that it doesn't affect the pictures as much on digital cams, even the less expensive ones.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:39, Reply)
the lenses tend not to be as good
and are often fiddly to use (ie my compact one I can turn on straight away, not have to footle round finding camera mode). I've got a waterproof compact for larping. I want one of these though

I found the lens in my iPhone to be amazing but the one on my Lumia 800 and HTC Titan was average.
The smartphones generally have fiddle free shortcuts to the camera so you can just point and shoot.

They're shit for macro and oookeyish for low light.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:51, Reply)
I think it's the tiny CCDs that screw up the high ISO (low light) stuff

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:59, Reply)
alright Warwick?
I would like to see Swipe flounce.

Alt- a Dreamcast.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:33, Reply)
no you wouldn't
stop trying to get a reaction out of- oh.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:34, Reply)
it would be a diamond-encrusted flounce.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:40, Reply)
Alt: I'd add eight pounds to that and get the Kindle Touch
I really love my Kindle, but I like the look of the new one as well.

Alt Alt: I don't have recipes, but my preferred microwave cooking time is three and a half minutes
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:35, Reply)
Kindle's are excellent. I also have the kindle app on my ipad, but prefer reading on the kindle.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:37, Reply)
What do you think on the Kindle Fire?
Bit too gimmicky? I like the simplicity of the original myself
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:46, Reply)
I want one of those
mainly because I can't afford an ipad and wouldn't use half of it's functions anyway.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:53, Reply)
I don't get why you can't buy them in the uk without importing it, amazon are missing a trick here...
... And if apple release their smaller cutdown iPad, it'll knock the kindle out the water.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:53, Reply)
Kindles are ace.
I thought they'd be a bit like making coffee in th microwave, unnatural and wrong. But I've already got through two books on the Kindle app on this.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:37, Reply)
Yeah I didn't think I'd like it at all
but I can't go anywhere without it now
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:43, Reply)
Everyone I know who has a Kindle, is fat.
This is significant.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:45, Reply)
Most of my friends have Kindles
and I see no correlation between size and possession of it
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:46, Reply)
I think pookie just has lots of fat friends.
He didn't need the 'who has a kindle' bit.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:51, Reply)
Granted I know a lot of salad dodgers,
it's just all the Kindle owners come into this category. Would you like Venn diagram?
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:57, Reply)
Yes please!

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:58, Reply)
This was a rhetorical question, sorry.

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 14:00, Reply)
I'm not fat.
Mine you, you also don't know me.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 13:50, Reply)
Alt: a nice speaker dock for my ipad. One that charges it too.
I think I now have pretty much every other gadget I need.

Wait, do rampant rabbits count as gadgets?
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 14:00, Reply)
Are they £100? Bloody hell.
I can do that shit for free.
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 14:06, Reply)

New favorite recipe is for Jambalaya
I don't feel like typing it all out though
but it's phenomenal, I wolf that shit down like I ain't ate in days
(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 14:04, Reply)
Does it involve Crawfish pie, and a fillet gumbo?

(, Fri 8 Jun 2012, 14:12, Reply)
A Rory flounce would be fucking epic!
Alt: Electric coke grinder. As a gift for someone.

Alt alt: Pasta Alfredo. Some fettuccini pasta. 1/4 packet of melted butter. 3/4 pint cream (I mix single and double). Salt and pepper to taste. 3 cloves ground garlic. Lump of grated Romano cheese. Lump of grated Parmesan. 1 mozzarella. Add pancetta and mushrooms to taste. Bake for 30 mins.
