Also many of its TV programmes and films. They get many, many points from me for consistently producing great bands in the 90s while we were churning out the most creatively devoid shite in the history of the universe, then merrily ignoring cutns like Gallagher and Williams when they tried to sell records across the pond.

but I didn't have to live through the music of the 60s and 70s and was able to revisit and cherry-pick at my leisure. I'm still considering suing Radio 1 for mental scarring inflicted during my teens.

I'm not arguing that either country is better than the other. My point is that, during that period particularly, there was a great bouncing back and forth of ideas and influences in both directions across the Atlantic, producing great results on both sides.
