Working from home is cae, all sorts of cool distractions such as drugs, dvds and porn.
Decent holiday I think, then starting uni as an oldster. As long as the bar's subsidised, like it used to be, all should be good.

it might well be
but student unions are no longer allowed to encourage drinking so that does rather spoil it.

I know of at least 2 unis that are removing the "bar" part of their union altogether.

Why is that? The health aspect?
Or the drinking societies they have at unis? We used to have the "Didsbury Dozen" run in Manchester, 12 pubs in a row.

heath, social welfare, and in some cases (london Met) cultural change/sensitivity

I assume you're talking religious reasons then.

(, Wed 18 Jul 2012, 14:34, Reply)
meh, I think cultural reasons are more accurate
last time I checked unis were still secular. no-one's demanding hijabs or putting up statues of Ganesh in lecture theatres.

Woah back up there!
They're doing what now?
What else is there in the union, apart from the bar?
(, Wed 18 Jul 2012, 14:36, Reply)
14 metric fucktons of student welfare advisors
and sports clubs, these days.
(, Wed 18 Jul 2012, 14:37, Reply)
Never noticed any of that shit whenever I went to my union bar.

(, Wed 18 Jul 2012, 14:38, Reply)
that's because we were always drunk, tangles.

(, Wed 18 Jul 2012, 14:38, Reply)
Never paying more than £1 for a pint.
Happy days, Badge old son, happy days.

We used to have "fives go mad in the union" once a month
A fiver to get in. 50p a drink. Any drink.

Great times.
