I am so angry right now
This campy dail mail sterotype of the UK. The way evrything modern and forward looking has been removed. Is this how we want to present ourselves to the world?

It's not even something trivial, this glorified sports day, has been done at huge expense to the taxpayer. Both financial in the public expense, and poltical as how personal and economic freedom has been sacrificed for this event. When I think what this might have been, I can barely contain my outrage. The truly creative in this country have been silenced for for fear of upsetting the sponsors. To spend this much on London, when other cities need the investment so much more is borderline criminal. London is a global city already, rich and cosmoplitian, it does not need the attention.

What happens when the olympics leave? The feudal rights of monopoly have been given to established multinationals over local industry. For a goverment that allegedly respects the freedom of the market, London 2012 is overshadowed by the unfair monopoly of the privalged few. Why must their needs overshadow that of people who want to use the attention on thier community to enhance thier livelyhood?

For what should be a celibration of the UK has become a representation of everything that is fundimentally flawed with out society.

Soz mate, don't mean to sound thick, and I think I get the jist of your jib, but can you layman that.
What I think this is though, is a scaled up version of how Tower Hamlets spent £40k on a celeb appearance for staff moral despite being the most improvished council in the uk.

if also another 40k came from corporate sponsorship on the grounds that the council would stop anyone from stopping them making a return on that investment by using draconian laws.
