It's not massively difficult
though having learnt that everything should be level and square, it comes as a shock to find most houses are not!
Making it fit is the "fun" part. That and the extremely sharp power tools.

Measure twice, cut once.
Then buy some more wood, measure it again and then again and then cut it again and this time it'll be right.
