I would just like to point out to Mr. Ape
that while we may have been to the same festival 2 years back, I won't likely have run into him, because I was in the performers area most of the time.

Also going to latitude make you a smug middle class prick, unless you got in free for banging a performer, innit.

Not sure what you mean old boy.
I am middle class as it happens, well lower middle anyway, but that festival was like Islington had vomited over Sussex, rude buggers too.

I wonder if we saw any of the same stuff.

Actually it was 4 years ago soz
It is so middle class that there is a radio 4 tent. I enjoyed it but I was quite stoned/drunk
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 15:58, Reply)
I genuinely did not see that much.
My then GF was producing a play there, was fun to hang out but a lot of it was not for me.

I do like Radio 4
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:00, Reply)

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:12, Reply)
They really don't run this country by any stretch of the imagination.
They do keep this country running though.

it also depends what you call middle class...
you have everything from me to David Cameron, and I'm not too sure about me.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:03, Reply)
Son of a millionaire, Eton-Oxford not middle class.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:03, Reply)
I know plenty of people from Eton, Harrow, Wellington who went to Oxbridge and are decidedly middle class
Also to be worth more than a million pounds isn't really that big a deal
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:06, Reply)
Yes it is, and no mistaking.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:08, Reply)
Not really, not with the way house prices have gone
My parents for example live pretty modest lives, but I know the value of their house plus pensions and investments would cross the 1m mark. But they are not millionaires in the way one might perceive.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:11, Reply)
Millionaire:
Noun
A person whose assets are worth one million pounds or dollars or more
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:15, Reply)
BUT, due to inflation the actual value needed to live like a millionaire Is more

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:16, Reply)
Living like a millionaire. What do you mean?
Freedom from financial worry, and the ability to do what you like, when you want to.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:18, Reply)
I dunno, I think it's in some ways more complicated that having worth over a certain amount
Although that would satisfy the dictionary definition
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:22, Reply)
Upper middle, no?

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:11, Reply)
Yes

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:12, Reply)
All this talk of class is just going to end in someone saying something about thatcher.

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:17, Reply)
She sort this country right out if she were back and you know not mental

(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:19, Reply)
I wasn't really about for the Thatcher era,
so i can't make a balanced judgement based on what she did, so i'm just going to scream "thatcher was a cunt and stole my milk" a lot, and call that a fair and balanced discussion of the politics of the day. Oh, also something about the Falklands and coal.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:22, Reply)
I was about in the Thatcher era.
And I agree with everything WP is saying.

I even voted for her.
(, Wed 19 Sep 2012, 16:23, Reply)
