My dancing win is fucking extraordinary.
I once performed the 'uprock' dance in front of 3000 people at Brixton Academy, whilst Kool DJ Herc and Grand Wizard Theodore were playing.

I only went to the gig to see some mates (it was a Chemical Bros show)
and got a bit carried away.

How did hip hop go from being like that, which is even more homoerotic than judas priest
to being so bigotted and shit?
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:51, Reply)
it's not all bigoted though.
True, there are plenty of bad apples in the barrel, but also lots of great stuff, just like any other genre.
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:53, Reply)
I'm sorry but I refuse to believe there is 'lots of great stuff' in the 'sadcore' genre.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:05, Reply)
Low, Codeine and Slint
SO THERE.

I can only think of Living Color and I suppose at a push Body Count.
You know that 'black metal' is all white chaps, right?
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:59, Reply)
It's hard to tell under all that corpse paint.

I really am not over-keen on that album and they're one of my favourite bands of all time.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:04, Reply)
I still really need Emotions on vinyl.
I really like SF Sorrow, but I think Get the Picture is probably my favourite.
You're all about the 45s though, aren't you?
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:06, Reply)
I am indeed.
I can't afford originals, but this is essential:

There are some of those on the CD version of SF Sorrow that I have
And a couple on one of the Rubble LPs
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:21, Reply)
I wasn't actually being terribly serious
but as a rebuttal that's a bit ridiculous, I can't think of many white musicians coming out of the gospel church genre, or playing whatever genre of music you would class Ladysmith Black Mambazo as, that doesn't make those genres bigoted.
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:17, Reply)
'Nig-nog WOMAD shit', I think it's called.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:20, Reply)
Even I don't listen to that bollocks.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:22, Reply)
I put it to you that you in fact do.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:28, Reply)
Mbekeni and the other guys will fucking love it.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:30, Reply)
Rock n Roll by Mos Def covers this extremely well.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:58, Reply)
Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin doesn't.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:20, Reply)
It covers it about as well as Mos Def

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 13:20, Reply)
It's a non-floor aspect of breaking.

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:51, Reply)
You mean the bit that looks like a spastic attempting capoeira?

(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:52, Reply)
I couldn't say.
I've never actually seen you attempting capoeira
(, Fri 21 Sep 2012, 12:54, Reply)
