You're in the pub trade, right? And you're in Oxford, right? Are you in the 'cool' bit of Oxford - i.e., the 'triangle', or are you more centrally located?

from lines that have probably never been cleaned, then no.
And, they've ruined the Hobgoblin, which used to be the pub where you would run out of the 02 and buy a pint between acts to save spending a fortune on shit beer.

I'm 6000 miles away, but live in Oxford normally, so it's interesting to know - there are some cracking pubs in the 'ford and there was talk about a bash in Oxford - I'd be keen.

as I've lived in oxford my whole life and never know anyone refer to any part of Oxford as "The Triangle"
Are you on about the money end, i.e Jericho and summertown, or student Village, i.e Cowley Road and Iffley?

I teach the buggers, but am not one myself! Have you never heard of 'the golden triangle' - i.e. Cowley and Iffley Roads? I'm not a local, brought up in the area, so I don't know the real terms. Jericho - I wish I could afford to live there...

but i can see that. I gazzed you my pub.
I used to live in Jericho, i had a basement flat on Walton Street. Nothing i owned was stored lower than 6 inches abve the floor. It is not all luxury.

A local guy helped us move house - he grew up in Jericho and used to watch Supergrass, Radiohead etc. in the Jericho Tavern. It's scary how much the houses there cost now - my missus was actually a student in Oxford in the early 90s and said that then, Jericho was a 'no go' area - times chance, eh?

Then people got all in to period houses, and BOOM!!!
Also, it's not far from Woodstock road, the traditional home of the money in oxford, so if you wanted to be close to the upper lot, but weren't so flush, Jericho was where it was.
I saw Supergrass at The Jericho, and Thom Yorke and his wife are friends of ours.

That's fantastic and at the risk of potentially pissing of Mr Boyce, I think Radiohead (and of course T.Y.) are probably the most significant band to have come out of the U.K. in the last 20 years.
