So what?
Copywriting should stop people profiting from others work. I've seen no proper evidence that this flood of bedroom piracy for the last decade has directly affected sales of anything. The only change in that time is that singles sales are more important now, and that's arguably down to iTunes and amazon rather than torrents.

Agreed
Plus, thanks to streaming websites I haven't paid for music in fuck knows how long.

I watched the Avengers with peoples heads in the way
It was like being in a real cinema!

Cinema ticket sales were the highest ever this summer.
The highest ever. And they think that every year they're missing out on 10 million plus ticket sales because of piracy, bollocks.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:24, Reply)
total number sold or value of sold tickets?
As if it's value then that's probably because it's stupidly expensive these days
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:27, Reply)
Good point
Needs MOAR Avengers though

Highest ever in terms of numbers or value?
cos inflation could explain the latter. Well, inflation and Avengers. Everyone saw Avengers at least twice.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:28, Reply)
I didn't, i pirated it

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:31, Reply)
Worse than Hitler etc
I'm genuinely glad I saw it in the cinema, but not for one second do I believe those hideously patronising adverts about piracy killing cinema.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:32, Reply)
And Battleship, everyone saw that at least 3 times

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:32, Reply)

is piracy illegal? yes.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:46, Reply)
And that argument is based on a system which was set in place before digital distribution even existed.
Law's aren't right because they're laws you know, things change, and I'm of the opinion that this is one of those thing that has changed, and the law should reflect what's happened not try to stop it.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:28, Reply)
you sound like one of those idiot cunts that bangs on about all property being theft.
your arguments confirm that it is illegal, so me saying folks that use these sites are pikey thieving cunts is correct.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:31, Reply)
It's not though, if you want to be technical about it, copyright infringment is a totally different crime to theft.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:33, Reply)
yeah, no. you're not really getting it again.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:34, Reply)
Legal definition of theft is taking something with the intention of depriving the owner.
torrenting isn't theft unless you were planning to buy the item and then you're depriving the owner of a sale.
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:36, Reply)
I have never bought a DVD in my life
so every film i torrent is legal?
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:37, Reply)
so they're still thieving pikey cunts, like I said.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:37, Reply)
I fail to see what advertising text has to do with the copyright issue.
YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU'VE SPELT A WORD WRONG
(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:31, Reply)
I'm sorry monty, you're still a wanker.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:45, Reply)
It was worth all the effort.

(, Tue 2 Oct 2012, 11:52, Reply)
