I don't mind having my photo taken as such, but it annoys me how people are the need to document everything. If it's a special event, or holiday or whatever fine, but the rest of it is stupid.
there is a wonderful moment in a Dylan Moran stand up where he berates a woman in the audience for taking photos, something about how she doesn't need to prove she was there, as she is on fact there, and comedy is lost in a photo.

I'd never take photos at a stand up gig or a play or similar. Unless it was one I was involved in or had been asked to photograph. And actually, i don't understand people who just randomly snap at everything using their phone. But taking the time to experience what is around you and take proper, thought out, considered photographs is a joy.

When film was expensive and you only got 24/36 shots on a roll, plus the cost of developing, you thought more about whether to shoot or not. Now my camera holds 4000 or more pics at once, and you tend to shoot everything in the hope that one will be good.

Although it's swings and roundabouts really, because it does make you more willing to experiment when you know it's not costing you a fortune to do so.

you can bracket exposures, etc. Also digital sees better in low light than film, or is that just me?

Those that are serious photographers, hobbyists or whatever, fine. But the guys with their mobiles held above their head a gigs, or wandering around a party taking photos of every last thing for their facebook wall can jog on.

he gets models in for people to learn how to take good photos, and some of the better ones just hire the model and get on with it. There is a strange mix of fat, unpleasant men that i'm almost sure are only there to get photos for their wank bank, and a couple of amazing photographers, who take some incredible shots, and not just the girls, one guy did a whole load just in the kitchen upstairs. There is a lot of skill that i'm sure i know nothing about.

The flash range of most cameras is 15ft or so at best, and in stage lighting anything moving will just be a washed - out blur.

holding their stupid fucking iPhones up, recording the crowd, recording them.
stupid fucking run-fast pricks obviously didn't realise someone was filming the whole thing for them already, so not only did they ignore the very people they were there to represent, but they stood, grinning like fucking jump-high and swim-quick mongs, drooling at a tiny screen as entire nations cheered them on.
stupid fucking bendy, athletic cunts

all it'll be is a black screen with occasional flashes of light in the distance, some gurning fuckwits every so often, to a distorted George Michael soundtrack.
