I had a mature cheddar and sweet chili jam baguette from Eat for lunch
I had not realised that as well as ludicrously overpriced salads and filthy foreign soups they also do pie and mash. Might go there again, now.

I have recently got back into porridge - not literally, that would be weird/for charity.

it's all Pho and thong minh and shit
I don't do oriental food.

only the ones in the cabinet
the fresh daily ones are a bit of everything - today's is chicken pot pie. that is about as oriental as my arse!

Yes, I appear to have been misled by the cabinet thing into thinking it was all shit
but when I went up to pay I spotted all the other non-shit hot food they do.

fuck anything that is cold in a cabinet and gets heated up
the cheese and onion pies are nice, and the soups are awesome

'Proper' East End pie and mash is fucking revolting and anyone who tells you otherwise is pulling your leg.
There's one just up from me that's been there for a hundred or more years - and in all that time they have not worked out how to make nice pies OR mash. Good one you cunts.

There's a stall in Whitecross Street Market that does pie and mash
the steak and chorizo one is good, as is the chicken and ham. The fish pie is not, as I accidentally had it once thinking it was the chicken and made the mistake of just pointing rather than saying "I'll have the chicken pie".

Ah but you're talking about 'trendy pie and mash'
not 'a thin watery gruel with a paltry amount of gristly mince, sloshing about under a pastry topping, served with equally watery, sloppy mash' by a one-eyed ex-jailbird and his mong-faced daughter. The eel liquor is the only decent thing about it and that's pretty shit in itself.

Eel liquor does not sound like a promising thing
More like a euphemism.
(, Wed 14 Nov 2012, 14:24, Reply)
It's actually OK.

(, Wed 14 Nov 2012, 14:25, Reply)
do you have it with Gentlemans Relish?
I'm suggesting you suck the pieman's floppy diseased cock to consume its "liquor", you see.
(, Wed 14 Nov 2012, 14:27, Reply)
Have you been drinking?

I reckon it's the steak for breakfast
I feel empowered.

Oh God, don't start pole dancing whatever you do.
