Depends on what it is, on this case it was a macbook, which is the same price where ever you go.
I was thinking like a super 3D telly with all the gubbins from RIcher Sounds.

It depends, the Active and Smart ones can be really good, but they ain't cheap.

A family sat around with expensive extra glasses
watching movies where they add a few scenes to make it 3D but generally adds little or nothing to storyline, and for that reason I’m out.

The coolest thing I've seen done is with the passive ones you can watch two things at the same time with headphones.
Not worth the money though.

I've asked for a rasbery pi for christmas, so I might use that as a simple media server attached to NAS and my TV.
