Working from home
Im thinking of doing some extra work, part time from home. Maybe data entry or something along those lines.
Share your experiences, good or bad from either this, or other fields of work.

Alt. How would you invest a million to make sure you were set for life? Property? Shares?

Alt Alt. Shit off.

My brother does a lot of his work from home as he no longer has an office.
The upsides are that if he's getting something delivered or wants to go out to the supermarket or whatever he can - the downside is that he always feels 'on call' and probably ends up doing more work as a result. Of course if you are less conscientious than he is, the downside is you'll do fuck all and get sacked.

As opposed to asking a load of internet shut-ins for financial advice?
which is of course an entirely sound plan...

depends on your attitude to risk.

I'm working from home RIGHT NOW!
It's nice to have the option of doing this from time to time. As for doing it full time, I did look into this when I wasn't working and it looked a bit of a minefield, to be honest. And also rife for being scammed.

Yeah the scam thing is one Im worried about
I have a great job, lets me go on here for one. Just looking for something part time, evenings and weekends and thought I'd see what experiences others have had.

I don't know anyone who's done it and could recommend something reputable.
Might be worth scouring the forums on Martin's Money Tips or such like.

Do you have a skill that lets you do more than data entry? I can't fucking stand that dull tedious but nessersary stuff.
I did run a racket as a Geek For Hire, that I only gave up when people mistook that to mean that I'm on-call 24/7 to tell them for the umptinth time how to open their email, or get blamed for when their 10 year old computer died.

I sometimes work from home, I sometimes work from the office. It's up to me.
I totally rock and work in an industry where I can do that. I wouldn't want to do eaither full time, and I have illness that lets me get away with both.
