Why the actual fuck to people try and do these things in January?
Choose a less dark and depressing month to attempt (and fail) to make wholesale changes to your life that you aren't actually that bothered about, otherwise you'd be doing already.

If I'm going to do something
I absolutely have to do it the very moment I make up my mind or I get all fidgety and annoyed. It's the making up my mind to get off my fat arse that's the issue. I have never found new year's resolutions help to provide the necessary motivation. Ever. Ergo, solely because they don't work for me, I am judging them stupid and pointless and that everybody that makes them's a moron.

*gavel cracks*

Next case.

If you actually care about something enough to make a lifestyle change over it
You'd have done it already.

Ergo, they are fucking pointless. Agreed.

because you are so over-indulged over christmas and new year
that it seems like a good time to get off your arse and shift it. although i actually managed to come back from an all-inclusive without having gained any weight, which makes me suspect i did not drink enough.

It's a terrible time to try and do anything you've not been doing before.
You've got no chance

we should have a hefty bet on it
that would motivate me and also give me extra pocket money when the no spending one lifts. problem solved.
