Accusations of cliquishness usually come from unlikeable people.
Sure there are a few people on here who are good friends IRL but they are not some inpenetrable clique.

you need to give it time to get to know what's going on
if you join a TV series half way through you can't expect to understand all of the characters and story lines immediately
