North or South?
Woolacombe (Devon) is nice. Newquay is a dump. Padstow is OK as long as you like Rick Stein.

Woolacombe is not nice, do not listen to this ham headed moron

(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 14:48, Reply)
What's wrong with it?

(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 14:48, Reply)
Nothing wrong with it when we went
unless it's gone downhill in the last 3 or 4 years I dunno?

bit common, caravan parks and the like, beach is quite nice though
personally i try and avoid the more "popular places"

I thought Woolacombe was supposed to be good.
Is Ilfracoombe much different?

Too big as a town, if you want to get away from it all. And not much there as i remember, although they now have that big statue
loads of nice B&bs in the middle of nowhere
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 14:49, Reply)
I don't really want to get too far away from it all
We will have a small baby, and it might be raining, so something none outdoors to do would be good.

Maybe I should just go to Chelthnam.

good point...
Cotswolds are nice for that sort of thing, full of tossers, but nice enough
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 14:56, Reply)
Got any suggestions for places in the Cotswolds?

(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 15:00, Reply)
Go to Italy

(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 15:02, Reply)
We stayed here once which was nice enough...the pub over the road however did excellent food and was run by an incredibly friendly and efficient Irish lady
walks are good, Oxford not that far. depends what your plans are. Alos will you need babysitting?

farmstay.com gives you an option of places that have bsitting, as does babyfriendlyboltholes.com, but that tends to be expensive
(, Tue 5 Mar 2013, 15:04, Reply)
You stayed where?
And no to babysitting.
