Fingers crossed please
Tonight after work I'll be meeting a lady who is prepared to pay me between £20 and £25 a day to look after her menagerie while she goes on holiday. Works out as an hours work a day - half hour in the morning and half hour in the evening and it takes about 10 minutes to walk there from work.

So if she likes me then I'll earn enough to afford my New York trip in November :)

Becky
She will, of course, immediately employ you! But good luck anyway.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:05, Reply)
I hope so
otherwise I'll be stuck in London for my birthday and that goes against all my plans for my 30th. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'd be a bit gutted.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:21, Reply)
I shall cross my fingers for you.
Should make typing interesting if nothing else.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:25, Reply)
ooh! hello!
I was hanging round in qotw proper, wondering where you'd all gone!

*waves*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:31, Reply)
Hello HLT
*waves back*

All this to-ing and fro-ing is becoming most confusing!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:55, Reply)
hello clendrix, thank goodness you're here
where IS everyone?

I've looked and looked and I can't find our homesweethome threads!

*feels lost*
*cries*
*experiences mad irrational terror that all b3tafriends have put me on ignore*
*spangs*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 10:58, Reply)
I think they're all over the place today!
We probably need to get a plan together so that we can all continue with our long, rambling chats that go on for ages. I love those!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:00, Reply)
Hello all
Is this the meeting place today? We seem to be spread rather thinly.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:02, Reply)
Let's make this the place!
I have to go to a terribly dull meeting now and I want to be able to find you all when I get back!

K2k6, take care of HLT while I'm gone!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:03, Reply)
hello you
I jolly well hope so, I'm not lugging all this cake around all day!

*cakes*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:04, Reply)
Hurrah!
*grabs cake on way out of the door*
*gives HLT a peck on the cheek*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:07, Reply)
Ah!
I missed my cake yesterday. Thanks. Don't mind if I do.

*munches*

*takes care of HLT*

Not like that, you dirty minded lot
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:10, Reply)
.
*is looked after*

*feelsbetter*

Are we all supposed to live here then? Like some sort of asylum?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:12, Reply)
It's actually
quite a good place. It means we can have long rambling threads (as we do anyway) without going off topic, or threadjacking a legitimate post on the QOTW board.

And it's our area, so we can kick out /talk-ers if they become a nuisance.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:14, Reply)
* Wanders in, white faced, hair on end *
No, I've not been reading the Spooooooky new QOTW, I just saw Enzyme's profile pic.

Morning all!

* Ducks and runs, Quack *
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:15, Reply)
Oooh good!
Why do you have no new dreams mr k6?

@ fireflier. that's nothing, I went to SCHOOL with him!

mind you, he had to go to school with me
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:19, Reply)
Morning Fireflier
I don't think Enzyme's actually that scary in real life. Although he is scarily intelligent.

@HLT - there was discussion of my previous night's dream yesterday, but I didn't have any last night. Not that I can remember, at least.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:22, Reply)
Oh, right
where should I look to find it?

no not there
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:26, Reply)
Actually
it was done by gaz. So it's not on the board.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:27, Reply)
Fair enough.
I've just been for a look at /talk.

*sits down, trembling and ashen-faced*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 11:31, Reply)
/talk?
NOoo! Don't do it.

It's becoming like the twilight zone for us QOTWers.

*consoles HLT*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:01, Reply)
thanks, k2k6
and btw, who DID you dream about?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:17, Reply)
Yes, K2k6
tell us!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:19, Reply)
Err
It was one of the regular QOTW-ers.

*coughs*

Edit - I'm off for a swim (with my towel, HLT!) More when I return, about 1.20.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:19, Reply)
Aw, come on!
ooh, was that a clue?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:25, Reply)
enjoy your swim!
and don't forget your verruca socks :)
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:26, Reply)
Has he gone?
*whispers* It was Kaol, I'm sure of it.

Up to rudery in K2k6's head.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:28, Reply)
*looks around*
*whispers*
Yeah, I think so.

it couldn't have been Kaol, he's a boy.

I bet it was beckyconsonants!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:34, Reply)
Are you sure it wasn't a boy?
There's no controlling people's dreams - perhaps he wanted it to be Becky, but Kaol came rampaging through instead...

If that's the case, what a shock!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:37, Reply)
yeah, k2k6 said it was a lady b3tan!
have YOU been dreaming about kaol?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:39, Reply)
Oh...
I missed that bit. OK, fairy nuff, Becky it is, then.

Fortunately, Kaol has not yet found a way into my dreams; I dream so infrequently that it would be very difficult. With all those knives, it would be a bit like Freddy Krueger in his heyday.

Is the rest of our lovely gang pretending to work? Shame on them.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:43, Reply)
Woo, lunch!
Backson.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 12:49, Reply)
*lumbers back in from swimming pool*
Phew, that was hard work.

*sits down*

*drips slightly*

Let's see now...

Bloody hell! Kaol! No no no no.

Much as he'd like to come rampaging through everyone's dreams with his knives, he's not made it in to one of mine yet.

And it wasn't Becky either. Although, she was most folk's first guess.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:19, Reply)
*stealth posting*
S'not me he was dreaming of.

Ning all, lunch beckons so play nicely til I get back :)
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:21, Reply)
*wipes raspberry juice from chin*
mmmm raspberries for lunch. nomnomnom.

how was your swim o drippy one?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:26, Reply)
@HLT
Tiring, as it happens. I usually do 40 lengths for my lunchtime swims, but I've not been in as often recently so gave up at 36 when it was starting to hurt.

Which means I'll need to do 44 tomorrow to make up for it, because I'm picky with that sort of thing. OCD? You decide.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:32, Reply)
If we guess correctly
will you tell us?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:32, Reply)
Pretty much every one of the regulars
except you two, already knows anyway. So, yes, I suppose I will.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:34, Reply)
40?
how long do you get for lunch?
that would take me, oo, about a week!

and ^ what she said - will you tell us if we get it right?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:35, Reply)
40 lengths
is 1km. I can usually do that in 30 minutes. Which isn't really that good. I get as long as I need for lunch, as I have no set hours. If I need to work through it, I do. If I need to work late, I get no overtime.

On the other hand, I can go off swimming at lunchtime, and can skive off early if I need to. So it all balances out, and I don't abuse it.

On the other subject, I may have to tell you the answer by gaz. But feel free to guess away. It amuses me :-)
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:39, Reply)
Not that good?
I consider it an achievement if I can from one end to the other without drowning. So that must make you a dolphin or something.

Yeah, go on, gaz us the answer!

Was it any of the following: ancrenne, theweewitch, clendrix, big-girls-blouse, bobfossil, maladicta, chcb?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:50, Reply)
Or
HLT!
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:52, Reply)
One of you
has the correct answer...
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:53, Reply)
oh yeah
or was it me?
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:54, Reply)
Aha!
I am now enlightened.

But if it wasn't that sort of dream...

*interest lessens*
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 13:56, Reply)
OK
so now we're all enlightened, and suitably ahem-ed out, can we move on.

For the record, I am not a dolphin. My nose isn't long enough, and despite being cack handed at times, I do not have flippers.

And I'm not grey-skinned.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 14:25, Reply)
Well in that case
join us in Maladicta's off-topic thread.
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 14:27, Reply)
Well that was a waste of good thoughts for me
She called up to see if it was today we'd agreed upon and has rescheduled for a few week's time now. Grrr
(, Thu 3 Jul 2008, 20:33, Reply)
@beckx
Pity about not earning the money sooner.

But New York is pretty similar to London anyway.
