The thing about public opinion, is that it is usually badly misinformed.
This government have pulled off the great PR stunt of convincing a lot of people that all public sector workers have the holidays of a teacher, the pay and conditions of a senior civil servant and the lifestyle of the Mighty Badger.
Now let's cut the pay of those greedy dinner ladies.

i work for a mental health charity and to be honest, this government are giving us a massive increase in business
so i guess that's a good thing?
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:43, Reply)
Not really.
You need to deal with this increase in demand with a smaller budget.
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:48, Reply)
we are mostly funded by donations but i guess with people having less spare cash
those donations will decrease
as we face more and more genuinely distressed people worrying that they will become homeless because, while they can't work and need help getting better and help getting back functioning in society, any sort of safety net is pulled out from beneath them and they fall further from society, all while we tell them they are scroungers and it's all their fault
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:51, Reply)
LOL

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:52, Reply)
so you can see why the argument for these reforms seems to me to be particularly unpleasant

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:53, Reply)
i've worded that sentence all wrong and thing

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:54, Reply)
to be fair, they shouldn't have gotten ill without being rich to start with
the dicks
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:52, Reply)
Maybe if they were good at something that someone would pay for they wouldn't be so unpalitable to the goverment.
Why shouldn't we reward hard workers who have done things like inherited lots of money?
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:49, Reply)
when was teh last time you saw a dinner lady who wasn't fat

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:43, Reply)
i think the last time that being overweight indicated wealth was some time around henry the eighths'ss' time

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:44, Reply)
actually it was probably during rationing

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:44, Reply)
i know this hasn't got much to do with anything
but i kind of want to know when it was now
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:45, Reply)
Ha ha

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:44, Reply)
There's quite a difference between fat because you eat shit, cheap food
and the likes of Stunned and Battered who are fat on eating foie gras swilled down with a couple of £53 bottles of wine.
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:46, Reply)
I love foie gras

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:48, Reply)
ITS GEORGE OSBOURNES FAULT THAT DINNER LADIES DON'T EAT CHEAPER FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETALES AND EXERCISE IN THE NUMBER OF GLORIOUS LOCAL PARKS THROUGHOUT THIS SCEPTERED ISLE

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:53, Reply)
There's quite a difference between what I said and what you just said.

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:55, Reply)
well yeah you described dinner ladies as greedy and I agreed, then you tried blaming the condems for thick working class yokels preferring to eat congealed fat from a fryer as opposed to the cheaper healthier alternative

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:59, Reply)
They could just eat less.

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:00, Reply)
Pretty sure quite a few people have already started doing this as a result of their reduced income.

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:02, Reply)
Thus saving the NHS money.
Alls well that ends well.
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:03, Reply)
Assuming that your interpretation of my words is correct, how would cutting the income of these people help?

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:02, Reply)
that one trillion pound debt isn't going to cut itself you know

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:03, Reply)
Ah yes, the deficit reduction plan.
Remind me how that is going.
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:06, Reply)
NOT VERY WELL
these autere times aren't very austere. Proper cuts are needed here. If it's not hurting, it's not working.
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:07, Reply)
what we're doing isnt working so let's do it harder!

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 12:47, Reply)
And also these "studies" are retarded.
Do you think "work should pay" yes/no would get a very different answer than.
Do you think the poorest in society should have their incomes reduced in real terms? Yes/No
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:45, Reply)
i dunno why the minimum wage hasnt been increased if they want work to pay so badly

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:46, Reply)
Also, I see a massive incongruity between being the party that is tough on crime and cutting the income of the very poorest in society at the same time as cutting public services, such as the police.

(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:47, Reply)
at least it should make it appear like it's all the poor's fault
as they end up having to become criminals just to survive, we can all go, harr look at them they are all criminals they don't deserve our money
(, Tue 2 Apr 2013, 11:49, Reply)
Yeah, like this
