It was well LOL.
For about 8 years, every single person that read the meter here missed off the last digit - until the last one. My boss argued them down to about 9k saying it was their own error etc but still v funny. I realise this tale lacks the punch of, say, 'my pet bird did a plop' but still.

Slayer were sampled by Public Enemy and were on Def Jam.

Goldie and Bukem did good mixes for fabriclive an' all. Worth looking up.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 18:57, Reply)
never got goldie as a producer or mixer, despite having seen him a few times; bukem I used to like but a bit noodly and on the quiet side

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:00, Reply)
I really dug Timeless
But I'm considerably younger than you. He really did help shift that scene from hardcore originating jungle toward more imaginative and intricate Drum n Bass. Having said that, he got Rob Playford to do all the actual studio work.

Bukem can be noodly, but that's what he does. If you want badass stuff then it's Hype and Roni Size and that.

Interesting that some of the more 'musical' producers like Roni Size, Peshay and Photek were much more hard edged as DJs.

Totally different discipline though, innit?
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:06, Reply)
Dunno hype and the ganja kru somewhat childlike 14 yr old kids in puffa jackets stuff blazin blunts. That said Zinc has stood the test of time.
Roni Size again a bit gay.

Also five years isn't really that considerable. Goldie might have helped bridge the gap to drum and bass but he's shit. Unlike Omni Trio who did it far better than him.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:13, Reply)
Five years is a considerable gap between the musical tastes of a 16 year old who gets in to that stuff via Goldie
And a 21 year old who's already well into Moving Shadow and Reinforced.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:30, Reply)
Pretty sure one is prescribed and recommended by doctors, because not taking it is worst for my phsyical and mental health....
... where as the other one is the oppersite.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 18:50, Reply)
Moreso than battered with his alcohol problems (as much as he'd describe himself as a 'heavy social drinker' , you've l developed tolerance and become dependent on your drug of choice
Funnily enough doctors don't recommend that. Pretty sure opiate painkillers cause withdrawals including agitation, anxiety, depression, paranoia, as well as a variety of damage to your internal organs

no offence like
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 18:58, Reply)
opiates also cause constipation.
In light of Gonz's condition, is this ironic or merely wry? Help a nigga out yo.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:01, Reply)
whichever way you dice it not good for his guts

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:03, Reply)
Well of course i've developed a dependance, how could I have not developed a dependance / high tollerance ?
When you have have incurable long term pain related illness, then they put you on painkillers long term.

Yes, it has those effects when you don't get them, and its a horrific feeling. But it's better, both medically and actually, than being in disabilitating pain all the time. Not entirely sure why they would prescribe them otherwise.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:02, Reply)
Better management of your pain control might be adviseable. Pretty sure being boxed all day long is pretty detrimental.
Perhaps a colostomy bag/ stoma may be the way forward. Also the people I know with Crohns are fastidious in what they eat, ultra health, and none of them smoke funnily enough, and take regular exercise.

You are what you eat Gonz
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:07, Reply)
It's pretty tight as it is, I see the GP every week and the pain team every other month.
I'll probably need a bag thinggy in the future, but whilst its being controlled via medication, then its not needed. You're not aware of what I actually eat, only the bits that I enjoy as a treat every weekish, and they don't effect me any differently the next day or soo. You're right about smoking though.

Either way, my opiate intake is not comparable to alcholism.
(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 19:15, Reply)
Gonz, it's a cheap shot to be having a go at Battered for his alcohol problems when you could be mentioning his habit of murdering eastern european sex workers.

(, Wed 17 Apr 2013, 18:40, Reply)
Thanks for that.
