...it's the parochial excitement at some nasty freebie at a slightly above average chain restaurant that is depressing. And on your birthday as well : (

and do you really think I'm legitimatly excited?

Go there. Their Barbera is far nicer than any prosecco that PE will give you.

you'd rather go to Pizza Express because they do voucher codes? I don't understand.

Rather than going to somewhere about an hour and 20 mins away and ~£30 travel for a full priced meal recommended by some french prick off the internet I'd rather go to somewhere I've been before within walking distance that's going to give me a free bottle of wine.

you should do the 3 hour round trip rather than go anywhere around you or you are narrow-minded.

What the fuck is wrong with you man?
( , Wed 15 May 2013, 12:58, Reply)

rather than going for a fucking pizza.

I also said "Italian", not "pizza".

I don't understand why he's getting so cross at me suggesting something nice to do on his birthday.
( , Wed 15 May 2013, 13:08, Reply)

is the narrow-minded bit. The three hour round trip comes under the "not retarded but kind of cheap" heading.
( , Wed 15 May 2013, 12:59, Reply)

Not that it was experimental. You're just making stuff up to be annoyed by, now.
( , Wed 15 May 2013, 13:01, Reply)

It's his birthday, he's going to want to do something special.

My local spot does top quality thin-as-crepe Napoli style pizzas that are a good 14in across and they're about £7.
Plus: 'dough balls' are a bent idea

Also, I think it makes sense to get a voucher for PE - they are far too overpriced for what they are.
