It's why when I do a BBQ, I tell everyone that if they want to eat, they need to contribute a couple of quid
Spent £80-90 on my one last year, got £70 back, which wasn't too bad.

I got a mate who does BBQs all the time, he has a £10 enterance fee to any neighbour/friend (unless someone is in a situation, if you get me), but everyone can have what they want for that and he buys it all wholesale.
He's never had anyone grumble, let alone complain, and whenever there is profit there, he gives it to the dogs.

Makes sense to do so

I don't think it makes any sense to give the profit to dogs.

It's why I pick up the food, this was £40 odd, and fed everyone last year.

I also provide salads, veggie only kebabs, and I'm willing to also cook veggie burgers.
