Worst book I ever got as a prezzie was one that explained that inanimate objects that are touched by humans become 'sentient' in their own right and have a life of their own
I got as far as the 'proof', which was about someone losing their wedding ring on a beach and then finding it on that beach years later, cos it wanted to retutn to its owner cos she'd imparted her sentience on it

I threw the book at a wall and never opened it again
