My new flat has halogen and I'm used to gas. Can I used my cast iron griddle on halogen ok?

We have a halogen, and use our cast iron pans with no problems. The only thing I've found is that if the base warps even slightly and loses contact with the hob, it takes a lot longer to heat up, or heats unevenly.
Depending on how long you're planning on staying in the flat, would it really be worth investing in a separate gas burner?

Halogen is not dissimilar to natural gas in terms of calorific value so should be the same settings.
Forgive me if your flat explodes.
