about £12 quid from Peacocks if I recall. they do perfectly well for weddings, funerals and job interviews and have lasted about 5 years, mostly by only being worn 2-3 times a year. I'm glad I didn't put more money into them.

about one wedding a year, give or take, the same with funerals (4 grand parents between myself and the ex wife and at least one friend) and a rash of job interviews culminating in getting my current job. I suppose it's been a time when grand parents are dying off coinciding with people settling down and getting married and also changing jobs for me.
it's all bee quieter lately.

and I was skint and in a hurry, but I've felt no urge to replace them. actually, thinking about it it may be the squareness that makes them comfy, pointy shoes don't fit my feet well at all.
