They're so pink and pretty
I don't want them to get grey and ruined!
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 22:08, Reply)
Let's face it, after 2 or 3 runs you're going to replace them anyway

Yeah, but she'll be able to say 'Those shoes cost me 80 quid but they've lasted me 6 years'

(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 22:33, Reply)
Fuck off you cheeky fucking twat
Implying I'd buy cheapass shoes
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 22:40, Reply)
I don't pay 80 quid for my running shoes, I pay about 70.
It's got nothing to do with the price, the fit is the key thing.

You know I wasn't being serious right?
These were actually far more than I needed to pay; I just really liked them. But I'll mostly keep them for the treadmill, after what the physio said about my feet - imma go to a proper running shop and buy some that give support where needed
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 22:50, Reply)
You should definitely do that
get them to do a gair analysis. I found "Run and Become" down by St James Park (round the corner from Sctoland Yard) an excellent shop, but the Marathon Shop in Covent Garden is also pretty decent.
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 22:55, Reply)
The marathon shop is where I thought I'd go as I work near there
Although I'd rather eat one than run one
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 23:01, Reply)
Dude, what you need is a GAY anal sis.
AMIRITE FOLKS?
(, Sun 28 Jul 2013, 1:25, Reply)
I wouldn't
Most of the recent research says that the more "support" your shoes give, the more likely you are to end up with serious joint problems. Your foot is a superbly designed running machine, messing with it makes things worse not better.

The physio says j pronate and could fuck my knees if I don't make them straight So I should probably check it out
I would rather have weekly massages from him, tbh, he was fiiiiine

Ha, that sounds like my dad
Humph, load of garbage, I ran 5 times a week for 50 years and I pronate, it's perfectly normal, grumble grumble

Me: hmm and how are the new titanium knees?

Lighty, did you just cite Wikipedia as a source? I never had you down as a wiki warrior
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 23:22, Reply)
I was looking for something neutral
The key point is, I think, if you run correctly you don't need fancy shoes. But you have to learn to run correctly - before the advent of running shoes people did fine because they had no choice but to run the right way.

I read this recently
www.amazon.co.uk/Born-Run-Hidden-Ultra-Runners-Greatest/dp/1861978774

And there's a lot of stuff in there about natural running.
(, Sat 27 Jul 2013, 23:27, Reply)
That's horse shit.
People had flat feet, over pronated, under pronated and all they could do is suck it up and suffer serious leg pains and not be as good a runner as they could be if they lived now and had better shoes.

Barefoot runners can't run super long distances without fucking themselves up.

"Barefoot runners can't run super long distances without fucking themselves up."
That's utter bullshit and you know it.
