You want as much RAM as you can afford (at least 8 Gig)
and you want Windows 7 (windows 8 is shit).

I have described computers like vishnu in the past
So the processor is the brain. i.e. how many things it can think about and RAM is the arms so the more Ram the more arms, the more things it can carry in each hand.

8gig is a bit excessive though I would say at least 2 but 4 ideally.
