Is there anyone about who doesn't live under a bridge?
Tell us of your wild and exciting weekend. Did you go 'outside'? Why are you not 'outside' today?
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 10:54, 37 replies, latest was 12 years ago)
I'll be going out soon.
Breakfast first and then cricket.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 10:57, Reply)
Good luck with that.
I'm psyching myself up to brave the supermarket in a bit.

Also, didn't the cricket finish last night?
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:00, Reply)
There are more than two cricket teams in the world.

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:06, Reply)
That seems somewhat excessive.

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:09, Reply)
'Tis a local derby today
Gloucestershire v. Somerset.

Cider may get drunk.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:52, Reply)
I didn't get out of bed until 6pm yesterday.
Might go 'outside' today. But only as far as some sort of shop that sells food. Other than that I have almost literally done fuck all apart from spend 6 hours getting home from London on Saturday.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 10:59, Reply)
Well, that's what bank holiday weekends are for.
That, and being dragged round Homebase/Ikea/DFS by the other half.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:02, Reply)
Having said that, I might go to the cricket later.

It's like some kind of witchcraft!

Hectic one.
The Doris has had her godson down so it's been steam trains, boats and the gromit trail.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:11, Reply)
'Gromit trail' sounds a bit.... grubby.
Or maybe I've just been here too long.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:12, Reply)
I saw a few of them, I quite like them

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:16, Reply)
We saw three the other night.
It's quite a good idea really, in terms of generating interest in a place. I think the first ones were the New York cows weren't they? About ten years ago or so? They've been a fairly global phenomenon ever since. In recent history we've had gorillas and donkeys. You still see them about, in private hands.

Where my parents live is a new town, like MK, and they have a lot of those concrete installations around the place. The most famous one is a bunch of concrete hippos in one of the parks, so their collection of decorated animals this year has been hippos.

Well, that was interesting, wasn't it?
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:21, Reply)
Yes....
I think it was banana sheep first though
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:25, Reply)
Lambananas!
Roota showed me those when we were in Liverpool.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:42, Reply)
Well, that's decided then. I'm not going outside if you're outside.

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:09, Reply)
*puts bumming gloves away*

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:11, Reply)
I though we agreed *that* was off the menu on bank holidays and Xmas?

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:14, Reply)
NEVER!

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:25, Reply)
I spent most of it in various boozers.
I'm not outside because this bank holiday is one of them 'except for viewers in Scotland' ones.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:08, Reply)
Well, did you enjoy your bank holiday at the beginning of the month?

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:09, Reply)
In all honesty I get floating days and forgot it was happening until it was too late to book it off.
I'd have only wasted it anyway.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:20, Reply)
I've been outside painting all morning
then I'm off to work in a bit.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:10, Reply)
That sounds fun.
I'm getting paid for not going to work today, which seems to me like a perfectly acceptable system.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:11, Reply)
Community service?

I can see her as one of those people in Trafalgar Square
who paints portraits for a tenner.

Dunno why. *shrugs*
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:17, Reply)
I don't know her, so now I will just picture that. Thanks.

(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:21, Reply)

Did "the big shop" on Saturday but didn't go outside other than that, apart from walking the dog. Today, however I've mowed the grass and weeded a border as I'm "working from home."
Might eat some lunch soon then a nap, I think. Might watch that Richard Pryor documentary that was on last night. Might work. Dunno.
Yawn.
(, Mon 26 Aug 2013, 11:53, Reply)
Drank a bottle of Pope's Ninecastles last night
so have had a quiet one today. I went out for lunch, though, full English breakfast at a cafe. Then a walk in the park and now back home watching sitcoms.
