So, yeah!
Where's everyone hiding this evening? I've had an afternoon Magners binge and desire conversation and possible virtual hugs.

Hello?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 19:31, 92 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Yo dude
I'm cruising the QOTW plaza and happened by this happenin' topic.

How the devil are you old chum?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 19:34, Reply)
Yay, People!
I'm very well matey.
Drunk as a skunk and having a one man mosh to Botch and trying to ignore the vast stockpile of booze that got left in the house from my housmate's birthday party last night. I can see this endeavour failing miserably.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 19:36, Reply)
Wish
I had such a stockpile, alcohol makes things easier.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 20:04, Reply)
Indeed
Lots to be said for takin the edge off.
I'm a happy and philosophical drunk these days too so all my mates are happy to ply me with booze as I'll usually say or do somthing entertaining.

And gags.
I'm not into *that* stuff.

Ah well
Lot to be said for the odd blindfold too.

Stuff that hurts not.

Anyway...

Why are you very very happy?

My half yearly reviw at work
I have paradoxically shot myself in the foot by being good at my job, so this week I get to eruditely and constructively put my point across.

Specifically, my working hard should not generate more work for myself.

*edit*
Hi BGB! Had a good weekend?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 20:44, Reply)
@BK
Have you not yet learnt that the more you work the more your expected to work.

1st rule of employment.

Don't work toooo hard.

My weekend has been quiet and peaceful.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 20:46, Reply)
My most exciting thing this week
is going to the cinema with Wookie on Tuesday so we can watch Batman! Yay!

Hi BGB - what about you?

@Clendrix
My most exciting thing this decade was meeting The Resident Loon.

Soon you too will have the same experience. Yay!

@BGB
Nice fella then, Mr Loon?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 20:50, Reply)

Seriously, he's a great guy. Clendrix will have a hoot. Citadel is cool also although I've never met him
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 20:52, Reply)
I really can't wait to see him.
It's so nice to be able to meet a couple of people from so far away, especially as I'll be missing the Big Bash.*

@Clendrix
You give them both a big hug and kiss from me.

When do you set off for merkin land?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:00, Reply)
I fly out to DC on 22nd
to meet up with my friend (he is also very excited at the idea of meeting up with random men). So we'll drive down to the Loon sometime between the 23rd and the 27th - I'm just waiting for him to decide on the best date, but I have no schedule so I don't mind.

On the 28th I'm flying up to Detroit to see one of my very favourite friends. Can't wait for this trip!
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:04, Reply)
There's another cool B3ta merkin called T-DUB.
I think she lives in Detroit.

I'm sooooo jealous. Mind you, you will miss the big bash. : (
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:08, Reply)
I remember T-Dub
In a very old QOTW, I mentioned I'd been on holiday to Detroit and she was horrified. I think she thought I was some naive English traveller who thought it was a good place to go.

But yes, there are a few people going to the Big Bash that I would have liked to have met, you and BK being two of them!

:(

Aw fanks!
Same here. If your ever up in the grim north then you must pop in. I shall stock up with Pimms just in case. : )

Oooo! rickets.
Those were the days. You can't buy memories like that.

I think I may have to travel to Northern climes soon
because otherwise it will be forever before I meet you both. Perhaps I can squash something in before the end of the year.

Remind me where you both are (i.e. nearest big city/town).

Hallo everybody
How was the bash Clendrix?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:25, Reply)
@clendrix
Leeds would be the place. Bk lives there and I'm a short train ride away. There is the York bash but that's not until the end of Jan 09.

Hi MM.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:26, Reply)
Hello MM!
The Bash was good fun - lovely to see Kaol again and great to meet Ancrenne and Vipros. Well worth the trip to see Vipros's band play - they're really good. And nice to be back in Exeter after all these years. Bloody exhausted now!

How are things with you?

Edit: I really love Leeds and have always wanted to go back there. Hmm...

I am hot, exhausted after a long weekend of fun but happy.
Is everyone else ok?
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 21:40, Reply)
@MM
Well, we managed to house about 25 people last night; in the living room, the kitchen, the hall, the landing and in the garage, and one heroically drunk guy in the garden in a pool of his own vomit so I think I can accommodate some relatively sensible B3tans.

And I prefer to call it the House of a Thousand Corpses.

What?

I did actually! I went to Regents park to see a midsummer night's dream yesterday afternoon, then spent the day with my mum today. All very clean cut. I feel I shall have to make up for it next weekend by getting extra messy.

Well done you. I always get miffed when everyone stuffs all the cans into the bin when we have a recycley box outside.

Lust- it's all good. I have spent the weekend in a whirl of messiness and have vowed never to do it again. Until next week, that it.

We've got a recylcle bin right outside
No excuse not to be a bit green really.
I wasn't touching the pool of vomit though.
We st up about 5 airbeds in the garage. Everyone who ended up there said it was dead cosy, apart from me wandering down the stairs and blasting Gay For Johnny Depp at them from the kitchen at 6 in the morning.

G'night BGB
Might wander off myself and listen to Sisters of Mercy for a while before going to bed (am old).

Scottish colloquialism
roughly meaning shut them up.

My other favourite being, 'Yer no' as green as yer cabbage lookin'!' meaning the object of the phrase isn't as stupid as they look.

Hi Ms Swipe and BK
*hugs both*
I've been editing photos for a project this morning, then sitting in the paddling pool on the balcony this afternoon. Has been a lovely Sunday. No alcohol involved as I'm still on antibollox.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:08, Reply)
Paddling pool?
Awesomeness.
My house looked like a bombsite this morning. Had a big houseparty for my housemate's birthday and there were bodies all over the place this morning, along with vast amounts of empties, stains and a bloke face down in the garden in a pool of his own sick (he was breathing though!). My brother also decided to shag my friend over the bath and she dropped her bottle of beer and left it, leaving me to clean it when I decided to have a shower.

Good party!
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:13, Reply)
Sounds rather gross
I'm always the one who ends up helping clean up after those parties. Every time I vow never again.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:15, Reply)
It was a bit of a job
but I didn't mind. I did help to create the mess after all.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:17, Reply)
True
I only ever clear up my own vomit if I'm sick. Someone else can clear up whatever else there is. *Hasn't been sick from alcohol in a long long time*

I'm off to find some food
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:20, Reply)
O hai.
I've spent the weekend with Mr Maladicta playing Guitar Hero as usual as well as the odd bit of sexy tiem, and watching him fill in applications for a new job.

Helpfully, my phone packed up today: refused to power on and just blinked insolently at me and a quick Google search proved that it is buggered beyond repair so I've just shelled out £100 for a new one :( bad Maladicta.

EDIT: and Stronkie, my insane Dutch internet stalker who wanted me to shove a computer mouse up my mimsy, has just tried to add me on yet another email address. FFS.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:23, Reply)
@Mal
It's not the chat-up line I would use to be fair, insertion of hardware into orifice.
It's hardly Shakespearean in its lyrical cadence.

Certainly evocative though!

O RLY?
How did you find him Maladicta?

*has food and isn't sharing as it's tasty*
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:33, Reply)
@ becky
YA RLY. The full story is in one of my ancient QOTW answers, but I forget which one. I added an address I'd been told was an old friend of mine from school's (I got it from my mate Bob and I trust him), only to find the address I added should have ended in @hotmail.co.uk and not hotmail.com, as I added. I ended up asking this person if they were, in fact, Tori, and getting Dutch in response. When I said I didn't speak Dutch, they swapped to English and proceeded to tell me they were Mark's sister who liked to watch her brother making sexy tiem with his girlfriend from the wardrobe, and that she wanted to have sex with me.

After a while, I got to talk to "Mark", and he claimed that as we had met by accident we were 'fated to be together' and he 'loved his little English girl' - to the point of dumping his thirteen year old girlfriend to be with me. I freaked, naturally, and blocked him after this, and what felt like the 90th attempt to get me to get a cam, and to video myself ladyfwapping, and then he wanted me to shove a computer mouse up my mimsy, all in the space of a week, and I only had to pop up for a second to set him off. Fortunately, I had the presence of mind to give him a fake name and location.

After I blocked that address, other Dutch addresses would start adding me "why did you block mark? he cannot see you online.", to the point where anyone who has a Dutch screen name who tries to add me on MSN gets instantly blocked, no questions asked. And I thought it had all ended about 18 months ago, bar the odd invite from SexyBabes.nl and FunkyHunks.nl, which go to my Junk folder and as far as I can gather are Dutch dating/porn sites.

So if someone called Mark Stronks ever messages you, you don't know me.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:40, Reply)
@ BK
I could tell tales about that; after not being able to get rid of him for an hour, he was saying "we should meet soon" - yeah, because I'm going to fly to Holland to meet some morbidly obese nutcase who wants to violate me with a mouse and probably other technology and calls me a 'slut' every other line of chat.

He was 30 and still lived with his parents.
(, Sun 27 Jul 2008, 23:42, Reply)
Hello kids

I'm sure he was a charmer, bar the obsession with my personal areas and the physique of Fat Bastard, to continue the Austin Powers theme.

"No, really! How could you? The man's so fat, the sheer mechanics of it are mind-boggling!" *pats Austin Powers boxset Mr Maladicta bought her*

I do keep a list of email addresses of people I violently dislike with the intention of heading onto toastedspam.com one day when in a different county and spamming the crap out of them (ex-Mr Maladicta put me up to this!)

I love Austin Powers; Mr Maladicta bought me the Shagadelic Box when we'd not been together very long (about five days) and we decided to watch them all in one sitting. We got halfway through Goldmember and then got distracted...

Well I got it,
Took it out, then took it to the place to get it fixed up, then brought it home, took it out for 3 minutes and got a puncture, then fixed the puncture.

Now I'm taking it out tomorrow properly, and hopefully it shall go well.
