kroney's your man

nah, he's got a car.
The problem i have is that although the car in question is genuinely a good little motor, it's worth next to nothing thanks to the stupid rover badge on it. Same exact car (almost) with a honda badge in the same condition would go for twice what i can get for this one.

what is it?

(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:10, Reply)
A car, you prick.

rover 414i

alright Alan

yeah, i know.
it was free at the time as the head gasket had gone, didn't take 2 days to sort it out and about 200 quid.

my mum had a rover with a honda engine
it went like shit off a hot shovel, that car.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:14, Reply)
exactly,
it's a very dull looking rover, with a nice honda engine and in very good condition, and yet. alas, i am only going to get about 800 knicker for a 1500 quid car.

a 620?
They were about the best one

I had a 214 for a while, nice enough car, but the head gasket went if you so much as looked at it funny. Terrible engine.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:17, Reply)
i think my mum's was a 216? but this is going back YEARS

K series
bag of shite. Metal head gasket with an iron block on an ally head.

You might as well tattoo "this car will blow up at 40,000 miles" on it.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:20, Reply)
Yup
and built like a sandwich with the head bolts going all the way to the sump, so needing a stupidly complex loosening and tightening sequence, during which you couldn't move anything. Utter shite.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:23, Reply)
only if you're a hamfisted oaf,
me and a friend sorted the engine out in a day and a half.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:32, Reply)
Or if the fucking thing goes 300 miles away from home
as the one in my old Freelander did.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:35, Reply)
yeah,
that's true.
(, Wed 25 Sep 2013, 15:36, Reply)
head gasket was done about 6 months ago.
