and I'm looking forward to a nice, relaxing evening, posting on off-topic.
*sighs*
PoD - blimey, I'd only just unlocked the doors!
I'm very well. How are your poorly wrists? What did the doctor say?

Hi ancrenne
Doctor said try and rest it, and take the anti-inflammitorys he gave me.
So I have taken one already, will have another with dinner, and it's sore as ever. Had some paracetemol at work too, and it's well sore. I hate it.
No real ideas ancrenne. Either use restraint and only buy a paper, or get a neighbour to deliver one to you? Or look online.
How was your weekend?

I had tenosynivitus a few years ago.
With some physio and taking care, it seems to have got better, though my wrists are still not that strong.
The reason I'm telling you this is because it was so painful, and the ache was almost unbearable. So I can empathise a little bit, PoD. It's really horrible. I hope they can fix you soon.

Tenodsyiwhatever
sounds painful.
I am pleased to report I made it to my car after work with minimal rainfall influence on my person, and that I am now fully dry, fed and watered. And waiting for real world people to appear at my door. So I won't be around much until later on.
But hello to all who are here. (Edit - speshly ancrenne, as we've all missed her the last few days. I heard that Kaol fella's been away too...)

A combo of playing too many instruments and using laptop too much. And playing at too many ceilidhs.
I am now fed and watered and stuff too. Hoorah.

'ning all!
I would like to put a fucking JIHAD on the following people, in the best Izzard tradition:
- Clipboard people who pounce on you in Victoria station when you're looking up the times to get the train back to Canterbury
- People who think it's the funniest thing in the world to ask me to "say something in French"
- Ex-housemates, who got on my tits epically when I was living with them, writing on my wall saying "so now you have a job are you actually going to be living with [Mr Maladicta]?" Um, well, that was the entire point of my staying here, what do you think, you dumb bitch?
In other, better news, today I went for my medical drug screeny thing at Euston, had to wee in a little pot for them, and then pottered off to Camden Market where I spent money I really shouldn't have done on pretty things, and then got back on the train to come back down here. I did also find out I can access b3ta from my phone, but the data transfer cost is pretty high :(

Ooo. A good idea; now I'm earning I have thought about a contract - problem with 3 though is that I think it costs a bomb to call you from other networks - Mr Maladicta used to be on 3 and I could wipe £15 of credit in about 10 minutes talking to him...

Be warned though, you need to choose your phone well. Some will only let you online in a 3g area.

^ Another couple of fair points :)
I've just broken the zip on my new dress, I think :( haggled the guy down to £15 for it from £20 and the zip is stuck... either that or I was badly shafted!
And, I have also discovered that I could perhaps get Mr Maladicta something nice for our anniversary, although it may be a couple of weeks late: Disturbed tickets for Brixton in October so he can mosh to his little goffik heart's content.

A mate of mine
switched to 3. It's crap round here. It only works properly in cities, where there's good 3G coverage, and out in the country it's supposed to default to 2.5G and piggyback onto T-Mobile or whoever, but it doesn't work very well.
Phoning from other networks shouldn't be a problem though. My free minutes on Vodafone allow me to call any UK landline or mobile, regardless of network. Maybe PAYG phones are different, but if you're spending that much you'd be better with a contract anyway.

Jam
I kind of had one of those "We're going to need a bigger..." moments.
After having spent an hour or so picking my blackcurrent bush bare, and being bent over in all sorts of weird positions (and not in a good way), I hobbled back to the kitchen. Tuned out I had about 3 Kg of fruit off the one bush.
I gathered together all the bits I'd need, spare jars, etc, and laid into it. I was going to make it all in one go, but saw sense just in time, and ended up doing two lots over two nights. Even then, It still just about managed to overflow from my biggest pot - a ma-hoosive cassarole pot.
Anyway - I ended up with about 6 half litre jars, 1 massive one litre barrel of jam, and a few other odds and sods on various jars all about the place.
All in all, I can be safely said to have a surplus of Jam!
(I'll bring you a Jar if we get round to having that drink sometime!)

I have a question
I was given a metric fuck ton of Maltesers at the end of term by my class.
Most of them were in bags, however one lot were in box. I've just cracked these open and I swear they taste different.
Am I going mad from boredom?

Yes, probably.
However, they DO taste different, as do smarties from a box and fruit pastilles from a cardboard tube and coke from a glass bottle.

Evening all
My faith in humanity has been restored today. I went for an outdoor meeting with the head vet and her dog this afternoon on Hampstead Heath with the proviso that we'd get to a certain point and the dog wouldn't want to walk any further as she'd think she was going home, so she would go on to Hampstead to get parking permits for clients and I'd walk the dog back. So far so good, we both aired worries and good stuff about our jobs and how we feel things are going - I was convinced I was going to get a 'you're not pulling your weight' speech, but wasn't the case at all, just a good amount of exercise.
So anyway, she leaves and I start walking back across the heath. Dog doesn't like other dogs but will be a nightmare to keep on a lead as she's never kept onlead there normally. So I'm throwing her toy for her and keeping a close eye out for other dogs and not really paying attention to which way we're going. After 10 minutes I'm totally fucking lost and the dog has gotten bored and now wont come back when I call her, I have to keep throwing the stupid toy to entice her closer instead - she's a collie, so can run a lot faster than me.
Now I remember that there were buildings on the left of me when we came in, so aim for them in a lazy zigzag as there's people and dogs about so keeping dog entertained and trying to find somewhere that looks familiar, of course nothing does.
First guy I asked directions of was also lost, but said he thought it was the direction I was going to get back. As I'm asking directions dog runs off, finds a nice ripe patch and starts rolling around in fox poo. Fucking nice. Then streaks off down the hill to the pond where the ducks are...looks at me saying no very loudly and firmly, winks and jumps in. She starts swimming around like the little monster she is (we'd discussed how the ponds there probably contain parvo virus, so not the best place for a dog with a sensitive stomach to be at the best of times). The only way I can get her out is to start walking away and pretend to ignore her, so she swims to the side, puts her feet up on the bank and pants. Figuring she's been out for about 45 minutes at this point and it's stupidly humid I relent and haul her out, soaking myself with scummy pond water in the process.
I start walking again, but this dog does indeed have OCD (vet told me this a few weeks ago, but I'd not seen it until now). She won't walk along certain paths, just stops dead and refuses to move. So we take another path, and then another. Eventually we've passed both ponds which I was told are about half a mile from where we started when we entered the heath and it starts to rain.
I have no phone, no money, just cigarettes. I think the guy I asked could see just how fucked off, but amused I was with the situation when I explained to him that I was very very lost and needed to get to a certain entrance to the heath. He and his friend walked me to the entrance and then gave me a lift back to the clinic for free in his (thankfully) licensed black cab. I made a mental note of the license number in case he turned out to be dodgy, but he couldn't have been nicer and refused to wait while I went inside to get money for him.
Apologies for length. How was your day?

Yeah, looking back it was really fun, but exasperating as she's got amazing hearing, but chooses to be deaf sometimes. Worst thing about it was I was wearing my uniform as it was an impromptu thing, so looked a right twat haring round the fields in a nurses uniform hahaha
Edit: Woah, get him for charm then. Sadly the guy I met was in his 50s and so was his friend, so not pretty, but they were dog owners, so have told them to come to my clinic for obedience classes :)

Buried my grandfather yesterday. Then when I got home there was a drunk in the garden screaming in to a mobile that he was going to 'smash your fucking skull in you cunt'. Was fun watching the police take him away.
Just eaten about a pint of leek soup.
It was green.

First I didn't know it was there so it got jammed, so I've unthreaded it and taken the zipper off the end, and am now trying to get it back on. It's turning out to be like the fecking Krypton Factor trying to sort it out!

The dog ownership club will always group together. Especially if your dog is a bit like theirs.
EDIT: Maladicta, if you're any good with a sewing machine it'll be quicker to replace it...

aw puppies!
So many of them about at the moment, I keep having *squee* moments.
Zap, hope it was a good service. My boyfriend's aunt had the most shambolic affair a few weeks ago. He forgot his notes and kept sort of making things up, then went up to her daughter at the end and said "I think we got away with it!"
He then blessed the coffin with a Carlsberg bottle. The label was still on.

according the birth certificate, his dad is English. However, his mum was travelling a lot around Italy at the time, and this was the 1950, so probably not the best time to be having wop babies.
We're more interested in the nationality TBH. You've met me, I don't exactly look entirely English, which is what I'm supposed to be. And my dad really looks like an Italian waiter.
EDIT: My dad doesn't care about finding his real dad, as he wasn't even around for the birth. And DNA tests can basically only determine whether you're European or not.

No pics? Ach, well. Can't blame a bloke foraskingsuggesting.
Muscle is denser than fat, which is why you can be quite heavy and not look it, and also why fat people float better than thin or athletic ones when swimming.

it's all good, PoD!
I'm quite thin, but not really muscular, except round the shoulders, as I do a bit of swimming. But I have a little spare tyre round my middle, even though I have a BMI of 22 or whatever.
And I also need to catch up on kip, so I'm off to bed.
Night all.

Never actually had one, as all the places around here said it ruins their oil. Did he enjoy it?

I have a fun day at work ahead, which won't be fun.
I hope it's quieter than today and yesterday and the day before.
