Until now, it seems we have had an entire Monday that didn't ask how peoples weekends were.
So, how was your weekend?

My mothers 70th birthday yesterday
230 mile round trip to sit with my dull relatives.

So it could have been better, thanks.

Back again on Wednesday for the "family" meal.

Great thanks. Had my daughter for all of it.
Combination of the zoo, park, cooking together on Saturday, drawing, trip with some other dads & their kids to a petting farm yesterday. 9.9/10.

excellent work.

We both really enjoy it when we meet up with other dads & their kids. Typically it is just mothers that do the whole 'play date' thing with their kids.
But why the fuck shouldn't the dads do the same?

Nice.
Had 3yo piglet round today. I ended up with a plaster on my forehead and a bandage on my arm, in common with both of her dolls. My pulse is okay, she tells me.

Had to visit a relative on last legs with lukemia.
Horrible how it wrecks the body whilst the brain is intact.

Otherwise not a bad weekend ta.

No mate, he's a great old boy but being dismantled in front of our eyes.
At least he's made his peace and he's in a marvellous hospice
(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:12, Reply)
thoroughly unpleasant
But if the end of life care is decent and he's ready to go then all that can be done is being done.
(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:13, Reply)
It's brilliant where he is and yes, if one is ever ready.

(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:17, Reply)
indeed.

I have massive respect for the staff that work in hospices. My uncle was in one years ago, the staff were awesome.
I have no idea how on earth they cope working with the dying on a regular basis.

Think I could do it but would need epic amounts of emotional support.

(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:20, Reply)
I couldn't. Too harrowing.

(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:21, Reply)
That puts the "boring" weekend into perspective
Sorry to hear that.
(, Mon 3 Feb 2014, 21:12, Reply)
Ta mate. He's where I'd like to be if it was me
So we can't complain.
