I have prescription diazepam for back problems
I sometimes take it for fun, it's quite nice.
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:16, 1 reply, 11 years ago)
I have diazepam to use if I feel I am going to have a seizure. I carry some with me all the time, just in case.

it's alright recreationally every once in a while

I dunno, I didn't enjoy heroin much and I don't like LSD

I've not taken hallucinogenics for ages. Absolutely years.
I'd like to try ayushca.
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:25, Reply)
I've never had a trip - always been too scared.

(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:26, Reply)
Tried most things when younger.Lsd, psilocybin, amanitia. The trips good, usually' but the days after are grim man.

a couple of my friends have a peyote cactus and attend ayahuasca ceremonies
They won't let me join in as I want to do it for hedonistic rather than spiritual reasons.

you get auras right?

(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:22, Reply)
Yes. They differ considerably for different people. For me, I get pins & needles down the right side of my face and a sudden aversion to feeling hot.
Excess fatigue is the biggest trigger for me.
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:25, Reply)
You haven't fitted for a long time I think you said?

(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:27, Reply)
I was admitted to the Royal Free last summer when I collapsed - turns out that wasn't a fit but some type of food poisoning, but the nature of the collapse made people initially think it was a fit.
I haven't had a full on Grand Mal tonic clonic for several years. Thankfully.

Glad to hear.

a bloke at work is an epi and doesn't get any warning, that must be a lot worse

(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:28, Reply)
That's certainly more dangerous, I'm allowed to drive as things are under control & I get auras, I wouldn't want to be a passenger with your colleague.

he has to surrender his licence after having a seizure

(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:34, Reply)
Yes. I did when I was first diagnosed - need to be 12 months seizure free before you can apply to get it back.
Even then it's only a three year license that then has to be reviewed. Which makes sense.

indeed
It's not a very pleasant condition.
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:52, Reply)
Could be worse; it isn't AIDS or cancer.
Speaking of which; how are you getting on with having both of those?
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:53, Reply)
my aids cancer has caused a tumour in my antibiotic system.

I get those symptoms when I've got a migraine brewing.
Fatigue is the cause for me usually I think.
(, Tue 18 Feb 2014, 19:56, Reply)
Thankfully seizures, as I understand it, are a lot shorter than migraines.
