Managed to have a nice Saturday pint and papers session
On the down this was because I was waiting for the garage to fix my car

Took micro to the RAF museum yesterday - really good.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:33, Reply)
Or
" I took myself to the RAF museum and dragged my poor daughter with me"
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:34, Reply)
Nah - she's fascinated by helicopters so the trip was a massive hit for her.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:36, Reply)
Good, so you have negotiated access then

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:37, Reply)
I finally did for the weekend, fuck knows what will happen this afternoon or thereafter.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:39, Reply)
What's her reasoning?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:42, Reply)
She's upset because I am applying for shared residency & 'can't cope with seeing me as she's so devastated'.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:45, Reply)
what, devastated at sharing access to your daughter?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:47, Reply)
Apparently devastated that (in her words) I will be taking micro away from her.
Shared residency is what they used to call joint custody. It doesn't mean micro would be with me even 50% of the time, but it would give me more overnight stays.
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:50, Reply)
hardly 'taking her away', is it?
It's a shared arrangement.
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:52, Reply)
Exactly.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:53, Reply)
Did she not consider that this was an inevitable consequence of ending a marriage that has produced a child?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:53, Reply)
Clearly not.
I think her preference would be for me to fuck off for good & not see my daughter.

Last year she told a friend of mine that she thought I would 'become bored' of being a father after a while.

As if.
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:54, Reply)
is she still planning on moving to Edinburgh?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:59, Reply)
She was never planning to.
She can't without my agreement anyway - Scotland is a separate entity to England & Wales when it comes to this sort of thing, as we have joint parental responsibility she can't just up & move.

Plus, she is 2/3rds through the first year of a three year course that she can't complete in Scotland, micro will have started school by then. So I think she'll stay in London.

If the worst comes to the worst I'll move to Edinburgh myself if I have to.
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 9:01, Reply)
Edinburgh's nice enough, easy access to London and has plenty of your line of work innit.
But yeah, Scots law is entirely separate to English, so it's a tricky bugger to navigate betwixt the two.
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 9:04, Reply)
I wouldn't earn as much up there, but my daughter is more important than that.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 9:05, Reply)
well, cost of living is a bit lower, so swings and roundabouts innit

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 9:07, Reply)
Have you considered kicking her in the minge?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:47, Reply)
Many, many, many times.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:51, Reply)
Mine loves trains.
So that gives me an excuse to visit the York Railway museum this coming weekend :)
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:40, Reply)
I live nearby, let's not go for a pint!

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:40, Reply)

Ta frog.
I've been there before, never taken her though. Might have a burn through this Friday :)
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:46, Reply)
I took some of my nieces and nephews on it, they really liked it.
And not just because it was free because I have shares in it, honest......
(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:47, Reply)
Nerd.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:51, Reply)
I didn't buy them.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:52, Reply)
I'm going to buy her a train driver's hat.

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:51, Reply)
And a dunces one for yourself?

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:52, Reply)
he's dimmer than an energy saving light bulb

(, Mon 3 Mar 2014, 8:53, Reply)
also, assuming she's fairly young, she'll love the road train.
It goes from the Minster to the NRM every half hour or so. It's a bit better than walking through that hideous tunnel on Leeman Road or going out the back of the station.
