I'm a customer of TalkTalk
They're they're cheapest option round here and I fucking hate BT. They're great until something goes wrong. Then they become the most inept shower of cunts I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

I'm never going back to BT

BT Can alter the settings on your router remotely and they do, regularly which cuts your connection.
THey also once cut me off for non payment of my bill. When I phoned them up to inform them that I pay by direct debit so have paid they agreed and turned my phone back on. Its still took three days, lots of calls and lots of shouting before I got the internet back. They insisted I try stuff with my computers. No amount of "I HAVE 7 COMPUTERS YOU FUCKING IDIOTS AND NONE WORK SINCE YOU CUT ME OFF, YOU CUT ME OFF SO YOU CAN RECONNECT ME STOP MAKING ME REBOOT IN SAFE MODE AND CONNECT ME TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!" would make them sort it. In the end a simple, "please connect me to accounts so I can close my account with you" then a "But sir you are under contract" followed by a "Yes and you are not providing the service so you are in breach of it" worked. They pretended to transfer me, hung up and 2 minutes later I have glorious internet porn once more.

Home hubs are fucking shit.
As an IT monkey, can I just connect a different router to my phone line and still have my BT internet work as well?

You can turn your router into a modem by switching off the wireless capability
then plug a proper wireless router into it
