It's okay mate, one day you will wake up and the first thing you think about won't be your failure, it will be something else, then you will know you are healing.

It would certianly help me forget what a pathetic miserable person I am if they would stop phoning and emailing me
I suspect they're doing it on purpose and laughing at me as they drink expensive booze from fancy goblets.

That's what I'd be doing. So would you, if you hadn't fucked up the interview.

Email his boss. You've nothing to lose. Tell him that the bloke they've hired is taking the piss by contacting you, he's clearly incompetent & you'd be happy to have a chat about replacing him.

I don't actually want the job to be honest
its less money and they've proved themselves cunts. The only reason I went for it is their Staff Development program has money in it and ours doesn't

Then say you're only happy to help on an ongoing basis for a consultancy fee @ £75 per hour, working remotely to fit in around your day job, otherwise you'll stop providing free advice.

Then negotiate the rate. If they need your help enough, they'll pay a professional rate for it.
Nothing to lose.
