"look boss, we all know this is a terrible idea. I'll do my best to support the users with it, but I don't want to look at them and they certainly don't want to look at me. I've got a phone, I don't need a mic".

So far, no further attempts have been made.

Mention the cost of the extra bandwidth for video
make it up if necessary, or point out it'll slow internet access to a crawl. That should put paid to it.

My mate Rob works for a company whereby they all are based in different locations
They all have webcams and their default screen shows everyone who works there. He says his productivity has increased by about 70% but nose picking is down 50%
