Evening
Well it's hotdog and chips night.
Some of my brownies were a little undercooked so I'm going to cover them in birds custard and have them as pudding.
And I got paid which I wasn't expecting to.
What good things have happened to you today?

Good things?
Had a shower this morning because the bloody thing has finally been installed and the bath is no longer filled with grout and plaster.
Finished emptying boxes in the kitchen and washing grease, grime and mould off everything.
Erm, thats about it. Heading off for pizzas and wine in a bit.
I live an exciting, action-packed life don't I?

It's me and H, sitting here watching CSI on Five US.
Henry and I are going out with Tess tomorrow for a walk. I'm concerned like a teenager.
Am I mad? (Answer to this is, of course, yes).

This Tess (from current QoTW)
Please sit down, y'all, and get settled in for a long 'un. Oo-er.
This is a story of me and my friend Terese, also known to all and sundry as Tess. She's Danish, blonde, tall, into photography (like-what-I-am), likes the outdoors (like-what-I-does) and is stunningly attractive.
I kid thee not, she looks very similar to Scarlett Johannsen, but working for a web company in London. And she's gorgeous. Did I mention that?
Tess and I met many moons ago at a festival where she and her friend were face painting. I actually saw her friend and her friend painted my (31 year old, at the time) face with a large saltire (Scottish flag (of St Andrew)).
We spent pretty much the entire weekend together with me pointing up various photogenic subjects (i.e., musicians, still lifes etc) and we competed as to who could get the bestest picture.
On the Saturday evening we went for dinner at my favourite (Scottish) restaurant on Trafalgar Square and met my friend the organiser who gave us both back stage passes for the Sunday. On the Sunday we met for breakfast (Ed=serious, attentive male without any first-date-nookie ideas) before going off to the festival again.
We stay in touch. When we meet, we kiss and have been each others plus ones for weddings and parties.
She designs and builds a website for me for DS09 and acts as the creative director type but then - shock, horror - I discover (from her) that she's involved on a casual basis with another who appears to treat her in something other than the pedestal-placing that I desire to do.
So, dear reader, here's the question - do I ask THE question? There are many, many logical reasons why we should be together but then there's also the point of the famous film When Harry Met Sally - why fcuk up a perfectly good friendship with a relationship?

Happy b3taday miss beckyletters!
I'm passing through briefly as I'm packing to move out of halls and into the flat tomorrow. Possibly foolishly, I've not got any internets set up yet, so I may be gone for a few days :( we have a phone line, though, so it shouldn't take long to get internets.
On the plus side I get to go on the Eurostar on Monday, and again on Friday to go to Paris for a training trip. Woo and yay!
I've also posted the full, unexpurgated version of Creepy Dave on the new QOTW.

Going through the tunnel to get to the Cutty Sark used to freak me out as a kid as my dad would swear blind that there was water starting to leak through. My brother and I would race each other across to the other side, tripping up god knows how many tourists and old people on the way :)

The one on Thursday went well too. I got a very positive impression of the company. They do some interesting projects, yet try hard not to overwork their workers. The one I had an interview with today do a much larger more long-term project, but their application form kept mentioning overtime, so I suspect I'd be more stressed. I also had an interview on Wednesday. That place does some interesting projects, but is located in the middle of nowhere.
EDIT: 'night Miss Blouse.

I'm holding out for Thursday's - it's in central-ish London. Today's was in west-London, and Wednesday's was in Oxfordshire.
Also, the company I interviewed with on Thursday offers me 25 days of paid holiday allowance (not including bank-holiays), and whatsmore, there's no upper limit to the number of consecutive days off I can take, which means I can theoretically do one Inter-rail trip round Europe per year and still have a week over. Wooo!
The Wednesday and Thursday companies I interviewed with said they might want to take it to the second interview stage, so I'll have an excuse to visit England again next month. Today's know enough about me to not have a second interview.
@Mrs. L:
You're welcome to my unwanted job. If I get a third job offer, I'll give it to whichever b3tan asks for it.

@Edmund:
Ask her!
Speaking from personal experience, I've found that when I've asked a female friend and it does not become more than friends, things may be a bit awkward at first, but as long as you don't make the 'asking' bit drag on, the friendship should survive. In one case, even though this happened many years ago, we're still friends and still occasionally chat on MSN to this day. In all cases, I've come to the conclusion that it's better to ask and risk temporary awkwardness - just know when to back off.
However, if you've asked her, she says no, and think you're likely to fall apart, it's best to avoid her for a while until your mind is focused and are back in a routine - especially if you're likely to hear about her more 'casual' experiences.
Good luck! And if it goes wrong, come to the QOTW OT chat-threads for some hugs. It's what we're here for.
@Maldicta:
Eurostar is ace, and you know it! I just wish they'd lose the X-rays when checking in. I hate having to empty my pockets!
Re this month's bashes:
