The day is lovely - I may go shopping, I have some errands to run and it's party in the park in Baginton later.

'Closing the loopholes on tax avoidance'?
So you'd remove the tax wrapper from ISAs and pensions then?
Doesn't seem fair somehow.

Personal taxation for most people is PAYE - not much scope for grabbing back billions there I feel. My gripe is businesses running their turnover through offshore accounts and claiming they make no money in the UK so they don't have to pay tax here (Viz Vodaphone, Google, Starbucks etc etc).
Basic question to put to these people - if you make no money here, why are you trading here?

legal doesn't necessarily mean morally right, though. Given who makes the laws, and the revolving door between the Treasury/HMRC and the banks.

Avoidance should be made impossible, those corporations that wilfully avoid tax don't get to play here.
Tax evaders should be hung. Tax lawyers - hung drawn and quartered.
