The stupid dog gets them fairly frequently so using a tick remover is the best way
They are weird looking things when you get them off just a alien mouth bit on a massive body. I have to keep a check on myself as we tend to walk him in bracken type places and being a knobhead I have shorts on so am a prime target for ticks

Dont get the lasso ones they are shit
you can get a pack of 2 (large and small) that are odd tiny forks. You have to get right under and twist rather than yank.
