Are people really that stupid?
Or is she telling porkies.

Jacqui Smith says public demand means people will be able to pre-register for an ID card within the next few months.

The cards will be available for all from 2012 but she said: "I regularly have people coming up to me and saying they don't want to wait that long."

Labour spin
Ah, propaganda and nothing more.

Those people must have instead been referring to how long it'll take until the next general election.

I think
she probably got the whole thing confused with all the people who keep coming up to her and telling her they don't want to wait until the next election for her to fuck off.

Tebbit with tits

wish I could claim I came up with that one

I'm hoping the British public make a stand for once
and make an effort to refuse to pay. It would only take a few percent of us to sink it I reckon. The poll tax analogy is apt.

At the next election
I really hope the lib dems and conservatives make a massive deal of the ID card thing so that people are even more likely to vote labour out and get the whole thing scrapped. No way I'm going to vote and pay for them to collect more information about me than I frankly think is necessary when they've proven quite conclusively that they can't keep important data fucking save in the first place.

That's funny
I can't wait until 2010 when hopefully Ms Smith and the rest of her utterly inept and staggeringly out of touch colleagues all get their P45s.

My vote for 2010 has not yet been decided, however I'll never vote for the Labour party again as long as I live.

*edit* Nice one ancrenne - was going to link to no2id myself.

i think we should all be identifiable by the unique patina aroma and staining of our pants

in order to check we are not terrorists or worse *looks around conspiratorially* foreigners, the figures of authority should simply kneel before us in the street and have a right good sniff

*smarms*

Hello from /talk.
She's a politician, therefore of course she's lying. Except she can claim that she's not. People do say "We don't want to have to wait that long" to her quite often.
It goes like this:
What people are actually saying to her is "When are you going to fuck off and die you hate-ridden whorehopper?"
She replies "When Hell freezes over."
They say "We don't want to have to wait that long."

The whole ID card idea
is the biggest load of old cock-knockers I ever heard of. Spend the money on schools and hospitals you faux Tory cuntbubbles.
