What annoys about this sort of thing
is that he killed two people and yet he serves the sentences for both deaths at the same time. Can anyone with a good legal or ethical mind explain to me why this is acceptable?

I can understand that if you did six or seven burglarys then serving all the sentences one after the other is going to be a bit ridiculous, but in this instance, why not lock him up for 16 years, he's clearly a cunt who deserves to be punished for destroying the life of the woman who survived.

Most sentences
tend to run concurrently rather than consecutively. A Judge does have the discretion to make them consecutive sentences, but clearly s/he didn't choose to in this case. I think it's on a technicality that the two deaths form part of the same crime/act. He will be out after serving less than half the sentence as he pled guilty.

Local father was battered half to death in his bed while he was asleep by twats who broke in with a baseball bat... He was in a coma and died 6 months later.

They got 18months each.

Woman who worked in a bank nicked £2000 from peoples accounts.

Shes currently serving 5 years.

courts try to discourage 'easy temptation' crimes such as this by making an example - otherwise every cunt would be at it

whereas if we jailed very violent chav with a baseball bat for 5 years we would need to declare the moon a prison facility and you would struggle to get an exhaust changed in any kwik fit branch or buy a big mac
