I've just made myself salivate by planning dinner
Thai-style salmon fishcakes with chive and soy sauce mash and sweetheart cabbage dressed sesame oil and lime.

mmmm. I should be on Masterchef

Is the mash
Marbled by the soy sauce or blended to a beigeness?

I spent most of this morning planning my weekends scoffing
Starter: baked lemon sole with pomodoro and lime.

Mains: rack of lamb with blanched spinach, roast cherry tomatoes and red and yellow peppers and homemade chunky chips.

One has to eat correctly in order to fully enjoy ones wine!

Vipros, like I said before, "real men cook".

Tonight
I am making jerk pork with rice and pea and dumplings.

I wanted to make curry goat but couldn't get any goat, rubbish.

I tend to make the mash a nice beige colour rather than marbling it
because I like soy sauce so much :-)

baz and sam: those sound good. I'd like to try some curried goat. not sure I've ever seen any goat on sale though.

or mutton for that matter

Your local halal butcher will probably sell you goat
We dont have halal here.

There's one mosque.

Locals shout, "Hey Batman!" at the women in batsuits.

Muslims are funny.

I agree that real men cook.
There's nothing hotter than a guy that knows his way around a kitchen.

It'll be awesome.

I'm having pizza. Woo!
Hey! I'm a career woman and I have gym tonight.

It's curry goat Vipros, not curried goat!
(or indeed goat curry)

Small but vitally important distinction...

I usually get the goat from an organic farm quite close to here (they also do mail order if anyone wants details), but they're out of stock at the moment.

Fuck knows where the nearest halal butcher is, I live in the middle of nowhere!

Ah...
I'm a lowly office worker, and have no social life.

For those in London
there are countless butchers along the Walworth Road (especially round East Street Market) who do goat, mutton, less-popular cuts of lamb and beef etc. It's a meaty goldmine round there.

Brixton Market
Has some good cheap butchers too.
If you live there, obviously.
(, Wed 28 Jan 2009, 16:13, Reply)
damn you all and your good cheap butchers
we only have really good expensive butchers, or shit medium-priced butchers...
(, Wed 28 Jan 2009, 16:15, Reply)
To be fair,
I live deep in the countryside, so know farmers :)

Plus if I get really desperate, I can grab the gun and nail a rabbit or two. Normally within my garden.

EDIT: Or poach a sheep from the field...
