Anyway...
The one that affected me most was Johnny Cash. The man had so much power and strength in his voice.

The fact that he lived on so long despite personal tragedy and problems with drugs spoke volumes.

Arthur Lee was pretty bad
The poor fellow was only just getting the credit he deserved - really unfair.

Similarly The Ramones (bar Tommy, obv) - years of slogging it out in the wilderness. Finally they start to get their rightful recognition and the poor buggers all cark it. Awful.

Seriously though, Nirvana's music hit me at the right age, and I was learning guitar at the time, so Live in New York was really an influential album in my life. Kurt and his bandmates were an influence on my musical direction.

I'm considerably less depressed these days :)
