Have to interview a brewer this weekend, and I'm trying to figure out if masham (yorkshire) is pronounced like the mash in mashed potatoes, or if it's basically an s, and the h is basically silent.

it was defdinitely not mash, more the slightly mazz tending side of mass.
Yorkshire names can be infuriating Take Aisleby, you would espect Aa-zle-bee, nah Aa-le-bee
or isle-le-bee or ail-bee. depending who and how far away.
