I'm in court at 2pm today to hopefully get more time each week with my 8 month old daughter. I currently only get an hour and a half each weekend, and that's at her mother's house with her looming over me the whole time.

I'm going to be accused me of all kinds of shit to stop me from taking her out - but until this can happen my brother, sister and friends will never meet her.

I am fucking SHITTING IT. Sorry this isn't at all humourous; none of my family is about and I could really use some support.

Assuming you're not some sort of alcoholic/delinquent/paedo/convicted murderer etc, an hour and a half supervised custody a week is fucking shocking. How can you build a bond with your child in that short a space of time?

It's pretty disgusting how much courts side with the mother just through tradition more than anything else, I know a few people who've been in similar situations and it sucks.

Yes - I SPLIT UP WITH HER FOR BEING VIOLENT.

This happened before my little'un was born so she didn't put me on the birth certificate to spite me.

This means I have no legal rights if she wants to take her to live abroad (a real possibility, she's got family in Cyprus) etc: part of today's hearing is to hopefully get me official Parental Responsibility.

EDIT: I like to get high, but I also manage a 1.5m turnover business and have never been arrested for anything in my life. All I'm really guilty of is KNOCKING UP A NUTTER.

how much power the mother has in these situations.

I'm seriously considering taking full custody of my daughter this year, her Mum is doing her no good at all, she's having a bad influence on her, and she's holding us all back.

Knocking up nutters is a terrible thing. They seem so normal at first, but once that sprog's been dropped they turn into the insane harpy of witchy-doom and screechy mentalness.

1.5m? Gimme some. Seriously, gimme some. I'll help you abduct your daughter and frame your Mrs for her disappearance. You'll have to push my ex in front of a bus though.

I knocked-up a nutter too. It only took her eleven years to sort her fucking head out.

If there's one good thing out of all the shit I went through for the past thirteen years, it's our daughter. We got incredibly lucky with our genes and ended up with a happy, balanced child.

Again, good luck. Not just for today, but your future with your kid.

@bgb: my ex was pregnant when I met her - I didn't know until three months in. I accepted that cos she was cool. Then she miscarried, didn't tell me, carried on sleeping with me to get pregnant again and told me all this a few weeks later. I shoulda left the mental bitch right there but I couldn't bring myself to leave my child.

In my mind, there's no better contraception than her theoretically already being pregnant.

My ex is a nutter, but at least was semi reasonable about it. I now have my daughter living with me because she got sick of dealing with her mother's ways, and I couldn't be happier.

As for your nutter ex- the next time I come over there, if you tell me where to find her I'll cunt her in the fuck properly, then leave the country.
